What would a Buffett acquisition of OXY look like?
It’s a simple question, and one we decided to take a look at the other day. As readers know, OXY is somewhat of a larger position for us, so it behooves us to dive a bit into the mechanics of what’s happening when the company’s largest shareholder continues to inhale shares.
We’ve kept an eye on it, but haven’t opined much on the mechanics because it was more important for us to delve into whether a deal even made enough sense to us (from a synergistic/business perspective) before spending time on the technical aspects. We’ve written before about the qualitative and quantitative reasons an acquisition makes sense.
