Love the analysis, talked it over with my dad, who’s a major history buff, and the only point I disagree with is that heavier _US_ enforcement of sanctions (bc China would never) would have deterred Iran and Russia. Their aggression runs deeper than that and doubtful that stronger economic sanctions would have deterred.
